From the ads, you see, to the coupons that pop-up on a webpage of interest, heck, you may have even initially met the man you are about to marry on a dating app. It is everywhere around you. When it comes to digital, there are few limitations and a whole lot of efficiencies. That is where the idea of digital wedding invites came from!

Many things have evolved in the wedding industry over time but the same ole searching for endless stationery invites has stayed the same. Researching numerous companies that have a handful of paper waiting to be enveloped, addressed, and stamped tediously eating up time and money when resources could be best served elsewhere. The worst part about the process is that after all that hard work you have to mail it out and hope everyone receives it. The waiting game now begins and at the end of it all you find yourself chasing people down to get a confirmation on whether or not they are coming to your wedding. If this sounds stressful then you now understand how Text The Bride was born! Hello digital wedding invitations!

We are here to talk about all of the wonderful advantages of digital Save the Dates and RSVP’s can change your bridal world for the better!

Wedding plan smarter not harder

Much like stationery invites, the process is pretty much the same. Pick out a preferred Save the Date template and RSVP to match. Update with a favorite engagement picture to showcase and VOILA! your wedding invite idea is created! Now all you need is a list of phone numbers, that’s right, not addresses. The chances of you having a more established list of phone numbers instead of addresses are much higher because they have been stored on your phone over the years. Plus, your friends and family move their place of residence much more often than they would change their phone number. Less time spent going to your parent’s old address book that may or may not be updated. Once those names and numbers are uploaded, you choose your desired date for those to receive the electronic wedding invites and Text The Bride takes care of the rest. That’s right, this can be done ahead of time and no writing out addresses by hand, return addresses, stamping, and running off to the mailbox.

Unlike the stationery route, our service knows that the Save the Date invite and image has been received by their guests. As the due date nears, Text The Bride will also send out a reminder text to the recipients who haven’t responded. That’s right, you don’t have to worry about calling or texting those invitees that didn’t respond to your paper invite. The beauty of technology and digital invites, right! Your Save the Date template and RSVP can be stored in their photo album on their phone to be admired forever and used as a guide for your wedding day as well. Also, all your guests have to do with the digital RSVP is click on the link and answer the bridal questions like any other paper RSVP except they are done when they click submit instead of having to put forth the effort to mail it back. While the bride and groom organize the paper responses our service collects it all on a spreadsheet to send to the couple by the due date. All the information you need is in one spot so the couple can use it as a guide for seating assignments, caterer instructions, and much more.

Planning a wedding during the Corona pandemic

So you have been planning in your head and researching everything you want for your big day for weeks, months, even years. You have gotten some of the big things accomplished such as picking out the venue, colors, your wedding dress may be even sent out the Save the Date or RSVPs by now. Every task you check off your list feels like a sense of accomplishment as you tirelessly work towards making your wedding day everything you dreamed of since you were a little girl. All seems right as you start thinking about the smaller details such as name tag holders or party favors and then plot twist, COVID-19 happens. An invisible enemy snuck into 2020 and has shaken everyone’s livelihood from health to their careers, twisting and turning down every road leaving no stone unturned. As you flip through multiple news channels every day becomes more serious, eventually leading to a quarantine that seems like there’s no end in sight. The happy thoughts of your magical day have now have been interrupted with the threat of a virus that has now prohibited groups of people getting together to celebrate your love. Your mind is racing with so many unknowns as you continually worry whether or not your wedding is going to happen. STOP!

The first thing you need to remind yourself is that you are not alone. Just to put it into perspective, there are over 2 million weddings per year just in the US alone. With that in mind, you are in a very large pool of people having to make some major decisions on your wedding date due to a most unusual circumstance. With that mind, take a step back and take a deep breath. That’s right, you got this!

Change the Date and beyond

There are multiple things that you will most likely have to alter or change but keep in mind none of these details matter until you change the date. If your wedding is scheduled for May or June you might have already done so. If your celebration is later in the year you might be racking your brain over whether or not to wait it out or take action. One thing to keep in mind is that the further you push your wedding out the better chance the world has to catch up on learning about the Coronavirus, work around it, better yet, hopefully, cure it! From this perspective, the quicker you make an executive decision on changing the date the better chance you have of getting the next date you want. Once your mind is made up, then it’s time to kick your wedding planning into gear. Your venue and wedding location are now in place, now it’s time to lineup the DJ, reissue RSVPs (digital RSVPs are a great way to save time and money) and on down the line. Recreate your previous “to-do list” prioritized by level of importance and check off each accomplishment. Take your time and most importantly remind yourself that you aren’t in this alone. Everything will get back to a new normal and your dream wedding will be just as magical as you imagined.
